Slumdog Millionaire is set to premiere in China on March 26. There is a possibility that Dev may attend.

DANNY Boyle, the Oscar winning director of “Slumdog Millionaire” is expected to visit the Chinese mainland for the premiere of his multi-award winning film on March 26.

“Slumdog Millionaire” will be screened in mainland cinemas shortly to make it the quickest screening of any film after winning an Oscar.

Dev Patel and Freida Pinto, the stars, will probably also attend, according to the Oriental Morning Post today.

During the 60 minute presentation, acclaimed film producer and executive producer of Paramount Pictures’ and Nickelodeon Movies’ upcoming film, The Last Airbender, Kathleen Kennedy introduced a never-before-seen pre-viz of the upcoming film and Academy Award-winner, Dev Patel, who has been cast in the role of the Fire Nation Lord Prince Zuko.

Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner at the Baftas winning eight awards. The film’s star Dev Patel could have been a tad down losing his Best Actor award to Mickey Rourke, but he was ecstatic – thanks to Sharon Stone! A source reveals: “Dev got on like a house on fire with Sharon and was texting all his friends in amazement. He even took Sharon over to meet his mother.” Dev’s currently looking ahead to the Oscars – and he’s desperate to meet his hero Will Smith. Dev told me: “I’m very excited, and hopeful for our film. And I’m especially excited about seeing Will Smith there. I think he’s amazing. I want to go up and chat to him at the Oscars but I’ll have to see how brave I’m feeling on the night!” Go for it, Dev!
