Slumdog Millionaire is being released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on June 1, and Empire has an exclusive look at a deleted scene.

Here’s a treat: we have a lengthy deleted scene from the Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire for you as an exclusive treat ahead of the film’s DVD release next Monday.

This sequence forms part of the childhood flashbacks, wherein we see Jamal (Ayush Mahesh Khedekar at this stage, later of course Dev Patel) and his brother Salim (Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail) making a living as thieves under the bleachers of the opera at Agra. We caught a glimpse of that in the completed film; in this deleted scene there’s a much longer look at Jamal’s experience there.
